After looking at other pictures of artists and analysing them, I have decided what my main image on the front page will look like.
My main image will be of a model who is acting as a new pop artist. I will use a long shot of the model. I will use a guitar as a prop to make the model look individual because she can make her own music. I will make the models body language confident and open to suggest that she doesn't care what anyone else thinks of her. I will further suggests her confidence through the eye line of the model which will be staring straight into the camera which will make it look like she is staring at the readers. Also the eye line will be in the top third to imply that she is dominant in the image and she is confident. The facial expression of the model will suggest that she is happy and likes doing what she is doing. The costume of the model will be flowery and it will be light colours which links with the genre of pop. Her make up will be bright. She will have light pink eyeshadow on, black eyeliner and red lipstick on to draw attention the models face. The angle of the shot will be a high angle to make the model look more confident and powerful. The lighting will look like a spotlight which make the model the centre of attention. The lighting and the body language will make it look like the model like being the centre of attention.

Image analysis and composition
The Wanted
The shot is a medium close up of the band "The Wanted". The set up of The Wanted suggests that two band members at the front are the lead singers who sing the most lines and the three band members at the back are just background singers who don't sing as many lines as the other two band members.
The body language of each member of The Wanted suggests that they are dominant, mysterious and powerful. The facial expression of The Wanted looks smug which implies that they know they are dominant, mysterious and powerful. The pose The Wanted are in shows that they are very confident and are not afraid of what people think of them. The costume The Wanted are wearing are dark clothes which further suggests that they are mysterious. The lighting brightens up the picture as they clothes The Wanted are wearing are very dark. The eye lines of The Wanted are all in the top third which shows they are dominant and powerful.
Adele
The shot is a medium close up of the artist Adele. The body language of Adele suggests she is shy and hiding away from the camera. This is further suggested by he facial expression which looks scared. Adele's costume is black which suggests she isn't very confident. Her make up looks natural which could imply that she doesn't like standing out. Her pose looks like she is trying to hide from the camera because she is pulling up he collar. The angle of the shot is low which suggests she is quite weak and vulnerable. The lighting look like she is in a spotlight and her body language implies she doesn't like it. Her eye line is in the top third which shows she is dominant of the picture.
Take That
The shot is a medium long shot that shows nearly the whole length of all the band members. The body language of the man in the middle suggests that he is in charge and he is the lead singer who sings the most lines. The body language of the man on the far left implies that he is confident and the way he is leaning in towards the main man suggests he wants to be the centre of attention. The body language of the other two band members on the left suggest they are equals in the band as they are back to back. The facial expression of the main man in the middle is confident which further suggests that he is lead singer. His facial expression is also mysterious which makes the audience wonder why he is staring at them. The facial expression of the other band members suggest that they are also confident. However the pose of the other band members suggest that they are confident, powerful and having fun. The pose of the main man in the middle further suggest the fact that he is the lead singer because of the way he has his arms crossed. The costume of the band are black suits which shows they are smart and serious about music however the way the main mans sleeves are rolled up and his arms are crossed suggests they are not that serious and they like having fun. The eye line of the band is in the top third which shows they are dominant. The lighting of the picture suggests they are in the spotlight and are centre of attention, however the poses, body language and facial expression suggest they are use to the attention and they like it.

Peer Assessment
In the peer assessment we got into groups and showed each other our magazine and described our designs. We were then given feed back about our magazine which made suggestions on how we can improve our designs.
For my front cover I was told that I needed to include a barcode, date of issue and issue number. I was also told that My sell lines didn't all need to be in a box so I should vary Between having them in boxes and not. My colour scheme is red and green and I was told that the colours was consistent through out my magazine.
For my contents page I was told that the layout represented the genre of my magazine. My group also like the editors column were there will be a small article about what the editor has been doing.

Flat Plans
Below is my drawings of my magazines. It is what I want my magazine to look like when I am finished.
For my front cover I have used three main colours pink, brown and green. I used these colours because in my opinion these colours represent the genre of pop and they look fun and interesting and they will catch the readers attention. I have placed the main sell line at the bottom of the page so it doesn't drag attention away from the masthead. I have also placed three other sell lines and two other images in order to make the front page more interesting but to also make sure the front page is not to overcrowded.

For my contents page I have placed the masthead at the top of the page to make it familiar to the reader. I have also used the three main colours again. There is a image in the middle of the page. To the left of the image is a band index which states the name of all the bands featured in the magazine. Below the image is the table of contetns which is writtenin brown with the page number in pink to make it stand out more.
For the double page spread I have placed the artists name in the top righ corner to make i stand out more. Underneath the title will be a paragraph describing what is in the magazine. The there is going to be three colomns which will be the article. I have decided my article will be written in the form of a interview. In the centre will be the main image which will be the biggest. Then below will be two rows of three smaller images. This will show different aspects of the artists life. In the top right corner will be a box that details interesting information about the artist that the reader probabley didn't already know.

1) I think this magazine is aimed at 15 -21 year olds.
2) I think this magazine is aimed at both males and females.
3) I think that this magazine is for Pop and Rock music.
4) If I could change one thing about this magazine I would make the text on the Double Page Spread bigger as I find it hard to read.
5) The broken effect of the mast head attracts me to the Front Cover. Also I am attracted to the white font against the grey background.
6) I like the layout of the Contents Page because it is simple, neat and professional looking. Also the dominant main image is eye catching which make me know that the main article is about them. The consistencey of the colour red is also why I like the Contents Page.
7) The first thing I notice when I look at the Double Page Spread is the main image of the aritst Lily Allen.
8) I do think the language links in with the target audience because it is casual and appropriate.
9) I think the image does match the genre because the rock side of the magazine is shown on the Front Cover with Muse breaking the masthead with his guitar and the pop side of the magazine is shown on the Double Page Spread with the image being Lily Allen who is a pop artist

1) The magazine is for 15 - 25 year olds.
2) The magazine is for both male and female.
3) The magazine is for generally all types of music.
4) I would change the layout the Double Page Spread because the image and the title quote takes up too much space and there isn't enough room for the actual article.

8) The language is informal, casual and appropriate for the target audience for this magazine.
9) The images do match the genre of all music because there is an image representing rock music on the Front Cover, an inage on the Contents Page reepresenting indie music and on the Double Page Spread there is an image representing pop.
After looking at the answers on the questionnaire I have decided on some ways I can improve my ideas for my magazine.
My magazine will be for females between the age of 15 and 25 years old who enjoy pop music. My front cover will be neat and organised to make sure it isn't overcrowed. Also on my front cover I will use a bright colour on top of a dark background as this make the writing stand out more. My contents page will be organsied as I will catagorise the information in the table of contents to make it more easier to read and the readers will be able to find what their looking for straight away. On the Double Page Spread I will have the main image in the middle of the right side page with three smaller images above and below the images becaise it will look more organised. On the left side page will be two colums for the article and to the right of the images will be another colum for the rest of the articles. To makes sure my images links in with the genre of pop, I will make the model wear a costume that represents the genre of pop. Also I will make sure the location is appropriate for the genre of pop. I will use appropriate language that is informal and casual so it links will my target audience.

Q magazine is published by Bauer Media. Bauer Media also publishes a range of different magazines for people who like gardening, transport or pets. For gardening they sell Garden Answers, for transport they sell Modern Rail and for pets they sell Pet Product Marketing. Bauer Media publishes these other ranges of magazines in order to increase their sales. Bauer Media also has other media interests like Radio, Online and TV. By having other media interests they are making their media more accessible to their audience.
For Q they have a magazine, a radio station, a TV channel and a online site. This means that people who like Q can easily get the information through a radio station, Tv show or an online site as well as reading it in a magazine. This shows that Bauer Media can use Magazines, Radio, Tv or Online in order to increase their sales and audience.
Bauer Media also publishes another music magazine called Kerrang! This magazine also has a magazine, radio station, TV channel and an online site. Bauer Media own more than one music magazine so they can target more than one audience. Q magazine is a general magazine that features bands and artists from most genre's, whereas Kerrang features indie bands and artists.
Bauer Media might be interested in adding my magazine to their list of titles as my magazine is aimed at audiences who enjoy pop music. Bauer Media currently don't have a magazine for the pop genre. This would enable Bauer Media to increase their profits as they will be getting a new audience.
